Designed by Famke, inspired by her Grandmother
Famke, co-founder of Nonchi Cashmere, has been surrounded by design from an early age. Guided by her grandmother, she learned the foundations of craftsmanship and timeless clothing. Today, they continue to work closely together, with Famke leading the design process and her grandmother refining each piece with decades of experience. Together, they translate inspiration from carefully chosen destinations into collections that capture the spirit of each place.
Why Cashmere?
For Famke, cashmere isn’t just a fabric, it’s a personal passion. From the very first touch, she was captivated by its extraordinary softness, warmth, and elegance. Cashmere is an experience everyone should experience it. It feels as soft as a second skin, while remaining durable enough to last for years. It’s breathable yet insulating, making it the ideal choice for creating pieces that are both practical and indulgent. It’s the kind of fabric that becomes more beautiful with age, just like the memories attached to it.
At Nonchi, we use only the finest A-grade cashmere, sourced from the goats grazing in the lush grasslands of Kashmir, the birthplace of this legendary fiber. With each fiber measuring just 14 to 15.5 microns in diameter, it offers unparalleled softness and resilience. Verified by Intertek and GOTS certified, our cashmere reflects the same values of integrity and responsibility that Nonchi stands for.
Sustainability Woven into Every Thread
Our cashmere is GOTS-certified, meaning it is produced according to the highest standards for organic fiber, ethical labor, and environmental care.
Each piece is made to last. The fibers, sourced from the finest goats in Kashmir, grow softer with time while maintaining their strength and resilience. Because our garments keep their beauty for years, fewer replacements are needed, making them naturally better for the environment.
Even our packaging is chosen with attention and responsibility, using FSC-certified and recycled materials to minimize environmental impact.
Inspiration from the Scandinavian
Our latest collection, The Quiet Reserve, began not with trends or moodboards, but with a house in the forests of southern Scandinavia — long, understated, and made of glass, stone, and copper. It blends into its surroundings, between lichen-covered rocks and tall pines, where light, silence, and time shape the atmosphere.
Inside, black marble floors catch shifting light, oak ceilings bring warmth, and shadows move softly across clean lines. Outside, the copper façade slowly weathers into the colours of bark, moss, and stone — the tones that shaped our palette: soft taupe, warm oat, pale grey.
Every piece is crafted from 100% A-grade cashmere — undyed, untreated, sustainably certified by GOTS and quality verified by Intertek. Minimalism here is not a trend, but a philosophy: clothing that doesn’t demand attention, but rewards it.
