The Luxury of Cashmere

Cashmere, often regarded as one of the most luxurious fibers in the world, is prized for its incredible softness, warmth, and delicate beauty. Harvested from the undercoat of cashmere goats, it takes immense care and precision to produce even a small quantity of this fine wool.

Cashmere is lightweight and insulating, unlike other fibers, making it ideal for creating garments that provide warmth without bulk. Its rarity and labor-intensive production process contribute to its high value, but its timeless appeal and comfort make it worth the investment.

The highest quality cashmere

When it comes to cashmere, quality varies significantly and is primarily determined by the thickness of the fibers. Cashmere fibers can range from 14 to 30 microns in diameter, with lower measurements indicating higher quality.

Most cashmere looks luxurious at first, but pills, loses its shape, and wears out far too soon. The reason? Short fibers, poor quality yarn, and mass production.

At Nonchi, we do things differently. We use only long-staple, A-grade cashmere: ultra-fine fibers measuring 14–15.5 microns in thickness and 34–36 mm in length. This means less pilling, better shape retention, and a garment that stays beautiful for years. You’ll notice the difference after just a few wears: smoother, softer, and still pristine.

Nonchi's commitment to excellence is further verified by Intertek and sustainable certified by GOTS, ensuring every piece meets the most stringent quality standards.
